Mercedes AMG GT SuperCar Details!

Does 503bhp V8 sound exciting to you? It does to us, and that is exactly what the new Mercedes AMG GT is offering. Whilst much of the world and social media was gripped by the reveal of the new iPhone 6 last night, we were concentrating on something else, the brand new Mercedes AMG GT. From the pictures that were released last night you can see the AMG GT is going to be a stunning car. Straight away you can see how the car is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz SLS in terms of its actual shape.

The 503bhp is exclusive to the GT S version of the AMG GT whilst the GT version has an only slightly less impressive output of 456bhp despite both the models having the same engine. Thanks to the difference in bhp, the GT S will be able to do 0-62 mph 2 tenths of a second faster than the GT at 3.8 seconds. Prices have still not officially been confirmed but it is expected that the price for the GT will lie somewhere near the £110,000 mark whilst the GT S will be around £120,000. As you may have guessed already the AMG GT is built around a similar chassis to the one used for the Mercedes-Benz SLS. Inside the AMG GT you won’t find any rear seats, but you will find a 350 litre boot. You will also find the same touchpad that’s in the new C-Class which fits in with the classic AMG centre console. There are buttons either side of the gear selector as well as buttons above on the roof which control the extendable spoiler, seat heating and hazard lights.

Mercedes-Benz CL Class

Mercedes-Benz CL Class

The Mercedes-Benz CL is one of the most expensive Mercedes you can buy. The CL Coupe is a large car capable of comfortably carrying four adults. The car provides more than enough power and extreme levels of comfort. The car’s price puts it up against some tough competition with elite competitors like Bentley and Aston Martin. My first experience of driving a Mercedes was the second hand Mercedes-Benz SE Class, and I can confirm that the Mercedes have come a long, long way.

The CL is great for long distance trips. The car’s comfort is nearly unmatchable. The seats are luxurious and have a special feature that engages when cornering too quickly. The seat’s bolsters inflate to keep passengers from sliding out of the seats.

The seats also cool in the summer to keep passengers comfortable. The rear seats provide exceptional levels of comfort. Legroom is adequate and CL delivers many features geared toward enhancing comfort levels.

The CL500 comes with a 5.5-litre V8 with 388bhp and goes from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds. The CL600 has a bi-turbo 5.5-litre V12, with 517bhp. The car can reach 60mph in 4.6 seconds. It has a five-speed auto in place of the CL500′s seven-speed. Both engines make excellent choices. The CL600 is capable of reaching approximately 200mph with the car’s speed control safety feature removed.

Practicality

The CL is an extremely expensive car to purchase. Running costs will be high as well as insurance and fuel costs. The car does deliver loads of comfort, space and performance, not to mention the Mercedes-Benz badge. The CL is definitely for buyers on a budget.

The car delivers excellent levels of cabin and passenger space. The boot is large and can hold a good deal of shopping or luggage. The CL provides good all-round space.

The car’s instrumentation is absolutely beautiful. The fascia’s flawless appearance matches the rest of the cabin perfectly well. The controls are of high quality and feel good to the touch.

The cabin is extremely comfortable. The car’s seats are supportive and luxurious while the car does a good job of minimizing road imperfections and controlling outside noise. The car is very comfortable even on longer drives.

The car’s doors provide large apertures and make access a breeze. Passengers are able to slide easily into the car’s seats. The boot is large and accommodating, but provides a high load lip and a small aperture. This may pose some accessibility problems.

Parking the Mercedes-Benz CL is easy. The car has been designed for all-round easy and comfortable driving, including parking. The car comes complete with parking sensors and a reversing camera.

Life Style

The CL Class provides an excellent driving experience. The car provides an abundance of power coupled with great handling and a super braking system. The car tops out at 155mph with safety features engaged, and when the car’s speed control is disabled the car can reach up to 200mph. The car has an abundance of power, yet manages to deliver a truly refined ride.

The CL was probably not designed with families in mind. It is expensive but for small families who can afford it the CL could easily carry out family duties while providing adequate room and plenty of practicality.

This is not a first car. The CL Class is way too expensive for most first time buyers and does not hold many of the qualities that are appealing to newly licensed drivers.

Mercedes-Benz has an excellent image. They are seen as producers of quality, high-class, and top of the line vehicles. The CL Class won’t let fans down. The car delivers everything it says it does and more.

Security and Safety

The car’s standard security features include valet lock-out, tracking device, remote keyless entry, a security alarm, an engine immoboliser and an anti lift sensor. The car comes with a comprehensive security package and will likely be necessary given the car’s level of desirability.

The CL’s safety features include Active Body Control, cornering light function, adaptive brakes, front and side airbags, bi-xenon headlamps, electronic stability programme, headlamp assist and an electronic parking brake.

The Finishing Touches

The car comes standard with a DVD player, telephone operation, DVD-based sat-nav, distance-sensitive cruise control and a multifunction steering wheel. The car’s basic audio system provides good sound quality and is an excellent all-round unit.

The car also features front and rear air dam, side skirts, metallic paint if desired, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. The car has an impressive level of standard equipment.

Summary

The CL Class is one of the most expensive Mercedes-Benz ever, but buyers will not be left wondering what they are paying for. The car is super luxurious and delivers a smooth and comfortable ride. The car’s exterior design is very appealing and the car boasts an impressive performance level as well.

Mercedes-Benz SL Class

Mercedes-Benz SL Class

The Mercedes SL provides a fast and very stylish mode of transportation. The car’s level of comfort is so high that it is rarely matched by competitors. The SL comes with a variety of engine choices.

No matter which engine is selected the SL boasts an electronically governed top speed of 155mph. Even so, this is not a slow car by any means. The SL is a beautiful two-seater and probably one of the best cars in the world.

The car’s cabin is very comfortable and luxurious. Passengers are well cared for by the way of large leather seats. Engine noise isn’t totally stifled due to the amount of power that’s on hand.

The car’s seats are multi-adjustable and very comfortable. As a cost option you can select massaging seats. The SL’s hard-top fold’s silently and easily.

The car comes standard with high levels of equipment. The SL 500 includes automatic climate control, bi-xenon headlights, a CD autochanger, Mercedes’ COMAND navigation and audio system, heated leather seats and metallic paint. The SL 55 AMG adds a full AMG body kit, aluminium cabin trim in place of wood, sports seats, an AMG steering wheel, two twin-exhaust pipes, steering wheel paddle shift control for automatic transmission, and a Bose audio system. No matter what level of trim is selected buyers will receive many luxuries. Even the SL 350 model receives the basic luxuries including comprehensive safety equipment and the superb folding roof.

SL350 delivers a smooth and refined ride without as much power. The SL500 is a little more spirited and matches the car’s sporty exterior, while the SL55 AMG has nearly 480bhp and a supercharged V8. The car delivers supercar performance. The SL600 offers similar performance but with a more refined ride. The car boasts a twin-turbo V12. The SL65 is the fastest providing 612bhp, but due to an electronic engine limiter all levels of trim boast a top speed of 155mph.

Practicality

The SL Class will be an expensive purchase. The better equipped models of course will cost more, but resale values should be good due to demand. Fuel costs will vary depending on performance, and insurance rates are likely to be high.

The SL provides excellent passenger space. All passengers should enjoy plenty of head and legroom. Boot space is a little more limited with the top down.

The car’s instrumentation is beautifully designed. Everything is well placed and functional. The controls are of a good quality and have a nice feel. Displays are large and easy to read. All of the technology is user-friendly and shouldn’t take long to master.

The SL is only a two-seater but it offers exceptional levels of comfort. The seats are lurge and luxurious while the rest of the cabin follows suit. Space is excellent for a two-seater and the ride is smooth and refined.

The SL provides excellent accessibility. The car’s doors are large and open widely providing a large aperture. The car doesn’t sit too low to the ground and passengers are able to gain access to the car’s seats with little difficulty.

Parking the SL is fairly easy. The car provides good visibility and handles well at low speeds. The car can easily be maneuvered into even smaller parking spaces.

Life Style

There are enough trim levels available that the car delivers just the right amount of power. The car’s maximum speed is limited to 155mph, but that should be plenty of speed for most. The car provides excellent handling and braking and delivers an all-round comfortable and enjoyable ride.

The SL is only a two-seater with limited cabin and boot space. It is an unlikely candidate as a primary family vehicle. The SL would make a fun and stylish second car.

This is not a first car. It is too expensive for most first time buyers and insurance rates would be expensive as well. The car also has too much power on hand for a novice driver. It is easy enough to drive, just not practical.

Regardless of the trim that is chosen the SL boasts very high quality materials with an exceptional feel. The car can easily stand on its own merit, however; the Mercedes-Benz badge certainly won’t hurt anything either.

Security and Safety

The car’s standard security features includea valet lock-out system, a tracking device, programmable remote door locks, an alrm and engine immobiliser and an anti-lift sensor.

The car’s safety features include head/thorax and driver and passenger airbags, pop-up roll-over protection, electronic driver aids, and an optional system to alert police and ambulance services in the event of an accident and guide them to the car using satellite navigation.
The Finishing Touches

The car’s standard audio system includes a trip computer, steering-wheel mounted controls, a Bose AM/FM radio with speed sensitive volume control. The unit comes with eight speakers and an in-dash CD player, a six disc CD changer and an MP3 player.

The car’s interior design is very luxurious and comfortable. The car’s exterior looks good in metallic colours and should bring a high resale value. The car also comes with many optional extras that quickly raise the price of the car.

Summary

The SL Class is a comfortable and sporty convertible. The little two-seater offers a lot of passenger space considering the type of car that it is. The top-speed is capped at 155mph but the car still delivers a fast and refined ride.
